What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
I was going through my pictures to see which one I was going to use and write about today on my blog. And I kept coming back to these pictures of the white magnolia blossoms. I love these pictures because of the dramatic difference between the dark green and the white of the blossom. But I thought - they really had no story to them pertaining to the birthday celebration. But I kept being drawn to them and the words to the above song kept popping up in my head. And I said - OK Lord - I get the hint!! These pictures represent us - everyone. The green represents those who are still in sin - who have not come to Jesus and accepted His gift of salvation. They are still covered with sin. The white magnolia blossom represent those who have accepted Jesus as their personal savior and Lord. As the song says - What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. And Jesus died for us so we can have that sin washed away and be with Him in Heaven for eternity. His dying for our sin washed us as white as snow - as white as the magnolia blossom. Even in just taking a beautiful picture of a flower, God was still showing me He was there and talking to me always.
"Thank you Father for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to die for me - to wash me white as snow - so I can be with You and glorify You forever in heaven. Thank you for showing me even in the beauty of a flower the love You have for me. Your love is the most precious gift I have."
